Search and book
The simplest way is to use the
Eurocampings tab: our website with various search possibilities.
Each country in the camp site guides starts with a map of that country. The regions are shown together with the appropriate page numbers. Each region starts with a regional map. These show the place names where the camp sites are located. The camp sites in that region are listed in alphabetical order by place name next to every regional map. There is a place name index at the back of the guide. There are more ways of finding a camp site quickly on the DVD. You can use the map or select the place name or camp site name if you already know it.
All amenities at a camp site are shown using a combination of numbers and letters. All numbers correspond to the main sections, and the letters correspond to the amenities that apply to that main section.
It is very simple to use the fold-out flap at the front in which all main sections and amenities are shown to see which amenities your chosen camp site offers.
It might seem a bit like a mess of numbers and letters but in practice campers only make a selection based on a few amenities. You have these at your fingertips.
It’s all very simple on the DVD. On the camp site page just click on 'Facilities'.
It’s quite possible that you have selected too many search criteria. The more selections (amenities or regions) that you select, the greater the chance will be that you will find few camp sites that meet ALL your selected criteria.
Our tip is to include only the selection criteria that you actually need. For example, you can select a large region that you want to visit, followed by the amenities that are most important to you, a restaurant for example, or an outdoor swimming pool, a children’s playground or a disco in the vicinity, etc.
Try therefore not to have too large a number of camp sites from which you will have to make your well-considered choice.
There is a reservation form in the guide written in the camp site owner’s language. You can fill this in and send it off. You can of course also call, fax or mail the camp site if you are familiar with the language. In most countries you can also get by in English or German.
If you have a camp site DVD this is extremely simple. Just fill in your details and a reservation letter will automatically appear in the camp site owner’s language. All you have to do is mail it or print it out and send it by fax or post.
GPS
GPS is an abbreviation for Global Positioning System. To help you find exactly where you are, anywhere in the world, there are 24 satellites orbiting the earth. The system was developed for military use but is now widely used by hikers and mountain climbers. And also by navigation systems in cars. You can receive the signals from several satellites with a GPS receiver which you can buy at outdoor sports shops and mountaineering outlets. The receiver combines the various signals and by using them can calculate precisely where you are. The exact positions are expressed in two coordinates: one with an N for Northern Latitude and one with an E for Eastern Longitude. The tent symbols on the maps in the ACSI camp site guides and on the Camp Site Guide to Europe DVD are shown in exactly the same spot where the camp site entrance is positioned.
You can create a login for My ACSI on
www.eurocampings.eu using the right hand menu (My ACSI – Register). You can then log in and download the coordinates.

- Make sure that the DVD is clean and can be read by the DVD player.
- Try installing the DVD on another computer.
Check the location drive of your DVD player in your computer’s Control Panel.
When installing select ‘compact installation’; much less data will be installed onto your computer’s hard disc. If you choose this option you will need to insert the DVD each time you use the guide. By installing the entire 2 GB version you will only need the DVD during installation. You can then use the program that you have installed.
- Because you receive this message when starting up the ACSI Camp Site DVD Europe 2009, it may seem as though the so-called SmartSound Quicktracks Plugin.msi is part of our product. This is not the case. This plug-in is part of, or an addition to another program or another product that you have installed on your own computer. Certain Adobe or multimedia products for example.
Only the manufacturers of these other programs to which the plug-in belongs can give you information about this message and how you can ensure that you do not receive it in future. We advise you to use a search engine on the internet and search for 'SmartSound Quicktracks Plugin.msi'. Or go to
