Lead the next phase of a European campsite booking platform
Are you an entrepreneurial leader with a strong vision for digital products? Do you thrive on growing platforms, bringing teams together and delivering commercial results? At ACSI Camping.info Booking, you will have the opportunity to shape the next phase of growth.
ACSI and Camping.info established this joint venture in 2021 with one clear ambition: to build a leading European booking platform for campsites. The foundations are in place. Now we are looking for a Managing Director to take the platform to the next stage and accelerate its commercial growth.
Your challenge
As Managing Director, you will have overall responsibility for the strategy, product development, commercial growth, day-to-day operations and financial performance of ACSI Camping.info Booking. You will lead the joint venture as an independent business, combining long-term development with tangible results.
You will report directly to the shareholders of ACSI Camping.info Booking. Working within a clearly defined mandate, you will have the autonomy to set the direction, make decisions and invest in growth. This is a non-statutory Managing Director position.
You will directly lead the Booking Support Team of approximately five FTEs. You will also work closely with external software development partners and specialist teams within ACSI and Camping.info. You will bring these different parties together around a clear vision, shared priorities and common goals.
Your mission is clear: expand the range of bookable campsites, increase booking value and conversion, strengthen distribution and build a scalable, sustainably profitable platform for campsites, travellers and online travel agencies (OTAs).
This is what you will be doing
Shape the future of the platform
You will set the direction for the platform and ensure that development efforts focus on the initiatives with the greatest customer and commercial impact.
- Own and drive the product and IT roadmap.
- Prioritise development initiatives based on customer value, commercial impact and growth potential.
- Manage external software development partners, ensuring clear priorities, effective use of development capacity, high quality and timely delivery.
- Lead the dedicated Booking Support Team at ACSI.
- Continuously improve the quality, reliability, security, user experience and scalability of the platform.
Drive commercial growth
You will be responsible for turning the platform’s potential into sustainable commercial growth.
- Develop and strengthen distribution through OTA partners and other relevant channels, maximising the commercial potential of the bookable inventory.
- Develop strategies to further expand the portfolio of contracted campsites.
- Increase the availability of bookable inventory and improve conversion.
- Identify and develop new business models and growth opportunities.
- Own the commercial business case and drive sustainable revenue growth and profitability.
- Work closely with the sales organisations of ACSI and Camping.info to align bookable inventory, distribution and growth opportunities.
Deliver operational excellence
As the platform grows, you will ensure that processes remain efficient and provide a smooth experience for both campsites and travellers.
- Ensure a seamless booking journey for campsites and guests.
- Optimise onboarding, support and operational processes.
- Drive service quality, efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Manage contracts with campsites and channel managers.
- Oversee commission settlements and invoicing processes carried out by the external Finance Team.
Drive financial performance
You will combine commercial ambition with financial discipline and build the organisation needed for the next phase of growth.
- Prepare budgets and forecasts for the joint venture.
- Monitor revenue, margins and costs.
- Own the business plan and translate strategic ambitions into clear financial and commercial objectives.
- Report to the shareholders on strategy, financial and commercial performance, major investments and business priorities.
- Build a scalable, lean organisation and shape the team and capabilities required for future growth.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an entrepreneurial leader who can translate strategic choices into concrete action. You understand how digital platforms grow, set clear priorities and take ownership of results. You move easily between product development, commercial matters and finance and know how to bring people with you, including those who do not report directly to you.
You combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach. You are comfortable working with data, making decisions and turning opportunities into measurable results. At the same time, you understand that success in a joint venture depends on collaboration: you know how to align shareholders, teams and external partners around shared ambitions.
What do you bring?
- Higher professional or university-level education, or an equivalent level of working and thinking.
- Extensive relevant experience in digital platforms, SaaS, e-commerce, online marketplaces, OTAs or travel technology, with a proven track record in senior leadership and end-to-end responsibility for a business or business unit.
- Strong experience in digital product management and working with software development teams.
- In-depth knowledge of digital marketplaces and booking platforms.
- Strong commercial, financial and analytical skills.
- Proven experience leading teams and managing complex internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent command of Dutch and English. English is the day-to-day working language within your team.
- German language skills are an advantage.
- Willingness to travel internationally when required.
What makes this role unique?
This role combines entrepreneurial freedom with the expertise, networks and market position of ACSI and Camping.info. You will work in a compact organisation where your decisions have a direct impact on the product, commercial direction and performance of the business.
At the same time, you can draw on the knowledge, relationships and reach of two established names in the European camping industry. You will build on an existing foundation and help develop a European platform that enables campsites to attract and manage bookings from travellers across Europe.
What do we offer?
- A competitive remuneration package reflecting the seniority, responsibility and entrepreneurial nature of the role.
- Performance-related variable remuneration linked to the sustainable growth and financial and commercial performance of the joint venture.
- An attractive package of additional benefits.
- The flexibility to work partly remotely.
- A senior role with substantial autonomy and direct influence on the future development of the business.
Location
Andelst, the Netherlands, with the flexibility to work partly remotely.
Ready to build?
Are you the entrepreneurial Managing Director who can take a promising European booking platform to the next level? We would be delighted to hear from you.
Please submit your CV and covering letter in English.
Take the lead and help build the future of campsite bookings in Europe.
